You must be sewing machine confident before attending this class
If you've mastered your sewing machine, made some simple scatter cushions and a tote bag or two and feel ready to move onto some intermediate sewing for the home then this class is for you! If not then attend one of our half day beginners classes first
During the class you will make and finish a seat sized cushion from our selection of fabrics. You will also do a sample zip suitable for the edges of scatter cushions
- Learn how to make and insert piping
- Discover how to measure a cushion and work out the fabric required- perfect for making custom window seat cushions!
- Learn all about matching patterns and using soft furnishing fabrics with a repeat pattern.
- Improve your sewing skills whilst sewing side gussets, and tight corners
- Begin using zips- inserting a zip into the back panel of your cushion. You will also learn a second technique for inserting zips into the edge of a scatter cushion
- Learn how to tuft a box cushion and use buttons to create texture on your cushion
